Merrel Olesen, MD. He noted that many of LJCSC’s patients are now bringing in their grown children and even grandchildren—a wonderful testament to the patient experience that is a hallmark of the Centre.

The Centre’s board certified plastic surgeons include Lori H. Saltz, MD, Johan E. Brahme, MD, and H. Michael Roark, MD. All of our surgeons believe that patient communication in a nurturing environment is an important part of what creates great patient-physician experiences at LJCSC. “We not only want to improve and restore the way our patients look on the outside, but also how they feel on the inside,” says Dr. Lori Saltz, Medical Director and senior surgeon.

Chief Executive Officer Marie B.V. Olesen notes that the synergy between team members at LJCSC is very unique. “We strongly believe that a team impacts the success of a company, whether positive or negative. We place a high value on the relationships we have with our staff. Because of their leadership in the cosmetic surgery industry, La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre founders and physicians were chosen to author Cosmetic Surgery for Dummies from Wiley Publishing. It is a comprehensive guidebook for people wanting to learn more about the various procedures available, as well as how to be a savvy shopper and ask the right questions. Past President of the San Diego Plastic Surgery Society and LJCSC plastic surgeon Dr. Johan Brahme continues to champion patient education and safety. “There are so many choices out there that you should do your homework when shopping for cosmetic procedures. You want to be in the best hands possible, and to do so, you need to arm yourself with the best information available.”

BREAKING NEW GROUND IN PATIENT EDUCATION:

Dr. Olesen and Dr. Saltz authored informed consent and patient communication materials that have been translated into five languages and are being used by over 1100 plastic surgeons in the U.S. and around the globe.
