Who is a Candidate for MACS Facelift?

You may be a candidate for MACS facelift if you have mild to moderate loss of skin elasticity and muscle tone of the face and neck. If you have jowls and deep creased between the base of the nose and corners of the mouth, or if you have developed facial and neck wrinkles, then you may also benefit from a MACS facelift. MACS facelift may also be indicated if you believe you lack youthful chin and neck contours, or if you believe you have a tired or "sad" facial appearance.

Intended Results of MACS Facelift

MACS facelift is intended to give a more rested and youthful contour to the face and neck.

MACS Facelift Procedure Description

The MACS (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension) facelift is often preferred because it is less invasive than other face lift procedures and leaves a shorter scar.

This type of facelift will lift and hold up sagging tissues in the neck, cheeks, chin, or near the nose with suspension sutures in the deeper tissues.

The operation is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia.

Recuperation and Healing After MACS Facelift

You will go home with head and neck compression dressings, which are usually removed with the next 1 to 2 days.

Minimal and initial discomfort can be easily controlled with oral medication. Bruising and swelling typically decrease to "socially acceptable" levels in 10 to 20 days. The final result is usually evident in 4 to 6 weeks or sooner with continued improvement over several months.

Complimentary Procedures

Additional procedures that can enhance the result are: Eyelid Lift, Brow Lift, Chin Enlargement, Nose Reshaping (rhinoplasty), and Laser Skin Resurfacing.

Note on MACS Facelift
