San Diego Kybella Injections
Reduce your double chin…for good
Did you know that over 2/3 of consumers are bothered by a double chin (submental fullness)? If you’re one of the many who are frustrated with excess fat under your chin, there’s good news! We can now help redefine your neck contour nonsurgically with Kybella™.
Kybella is a minimally invasive injectable treatment that effectively reduces submental fullness without the need for surgery or anesthesia and involving little-to-no downtime, making it a wonderful alternative to more invasive procedures.
How Kybella Works
Kybella is FDA approved for the safe and effective treatment of excess fat under the chin. The main component of Kybella is a non-human/non-animal formulation of deoxycholic acid, a molecule that naturally occurs in your body to help absorb and break down dietary fat. When injected directly into moderate to severe pockets of fat cells under your chin, Kybella effectively destroys the cells and prevents them from storing or accumulating fat in the future. To avoid damaging surrounding tissue, it’s critical that you choose an experienced, trained injector for your treatment.
With Kybella, patients can see dramatic results after just a few short treatments—without a long recovery period, discomfort, or obvious side effects. In studies, Kybella has shown high patient satisfaction rates: almost 80% of patients were thrilled with the improved appearance of their face and chin and reported an improvement in confidence!
Your Kybella Treatment
After you and your surgeon have determined that Kybella is a great option for you, a series of up to six treatments, spaced at least a month apart, will be scheduled—though most patients are happy with their results after just two to four treatments. During your treatment session, Kybella will be precisely and thoughtfully injected into the troublesome fat under your chin. You may feel a very slight stinging sensation during the initial injection, though your overall treatment should be comfortable.
Your appointment should take no longer than 30 minutes. After your treatment, it’s normal to experience some bruising, swelling, redness, or tenderness around the injection sites for the first few days. Numbness or a formation of hardness around the treated area may also occur, though these effects are temporary and completely normal. Many patients report that the intensity of the side effects lessened with each subsequent treatment.
