Dr. Brahme immigrated to the United States with his family during high school, eventually settling in San Diego. His father—a physician and medical school professor—joined the faculty at University of California, San Diego (USCD) School of Medicine, inspiring Dr. Brahme to pursue a career in medicine as well. He earned his medical degree and completed his plastic surgery residency at UCSD, laying the foundation for his expertise in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
Following his training, Dr. Brahme remained in San Diego to serve on the UCSD faculty before joining his colleague, Dr. John Smoot, in private practice. Since 2004, Dr. Brahme has been a valued member of the award-winning team at La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre, which has been voted San Diego’s Best Cosmetic Surgery Practice by Union-Tribune readers more than 12 times and named San Diego Magazine’s Best Cosmetic Surgery Group of 2025.

I’ve been married for over two decades to my incredible wife, Sevil, a fellow physician and the mother of our two wonderful children, Lucas and Alexandra. Outside the operating room, you’ll often find me enjoying music with my family—I’m a board member for Mainly Mozart and previously served on the board for the La Jolla Music Society—traveling, or simply spending quality time with those I love.
