Welcome everyone to The Jolla Cosmetic Podcast. I’m your hostess Monique Ramsey. And I have wrangled producer Eva into the studio today to talk about some really fun things. One being the new patient offers that we have going on in our med spa. Welcome Eva.

Eva Sheie (00:34):
Hello. I am actually in the laundry room, Monique. I’m not in the studio.

Monique Ramsey (00:39):
You had to tell everybody? I’m in the kitchen.

Eva Sheie (00:42):
And I turned off the dryer just for you.

Monique Ramsey (00:44):
Oh, perfect. Perfect. .

Eva Sheie (00:46):
So I know that this is a really good new patient offer and I was just in Carlsbad and I noticed that hardly anyone else has an offer this good. In fact, I don’t think anyone else has an offer this good. So tell me what is the new patient offer Monique?

Monique Ramsey (01:02):
So we have a $249 introductory offer to Botox. So what that means is if you’re a new patient, to La Jolla Cosmetic Medical Spa, then you can get up to 40 units of Botox for $249, which is basically 50% off. And do most places go by the area on your face or do they go by the unit? We go by the unit just cuz it’s kind of fair that way and you know what you’re getting.

Eva Sheie (01:34):
Yeah, most people use units. Areas is really easy to fudge.

Monique Ramsey (01:39):
Yeah. Like crow’s feet, what if they give you eight units, not 15 or something?

Eva Sheie (01:44):
Yeah. How would you ever know?

Monique Ramsey (01:45):

You know what I didn’t know about units is that the companies made up the units themselves. They’re actually not a standard measurement of anything, which that surprised me. I always thought it was like a CC was like a unit, but it’s an imaginary measurement that they made up.

Monique Ramsey (02:06):
Well it stuck. I think the average number of units for a patient is 36 to 40.

Eva Sheie (02:13):
How many do you get when you go? Do you know ? You’re not gonna tell us.

Monique Ramsey (02:18):
Oh, I’ll tell you. But it’s a lot. I, I mean it’s like I want it everywhere. Okay. So I, it’s like 75 ish 80, I don’t know. Yeah. Like I, I want everything smooth.

Eva Sheie (02:34):
I started getting it maybe six years ago and in the beginning I was right around 40 units and lately I’m more in the fifties. I think last time I was closer to 60.

Monique Ramsey (02:46):
Yeah. And I think it’s because you know, they can do the area around, like for me, Eva’s quite a bit younger than I am, but like your chin, the little old lady chin, you get that kind of orange peel texture around your chin. So your units go up because I’m getting older . And so we’re putting it around the mouth in certain areas to help even if like if, you purse your lips in a really funny way, those muscles contract really strongly and kind of create more dynamic wrinkles around the, the mouth and chin so they can put the Botox to sort of relax that. Where do you get it Eva?

Eva Sheie (03:24):
I get it in my forehead. And the first place, the reason that that I went originally was because I had very large muscles when I frowned, and at work everyone could tell when I was skeptical, let’s, let’s use the word skeptical. And my mother used to say you really need to learn how to school your face, because I react with my face to lots of things and people would assume that I was thinking something based on what my face looked like. And if you go in my TouchMD account, that very first photo is still in there. I can actually see the timeline of my face going back to the beginning of me getting Botox. And it’s so different. Those muscles are now really small. So even when my Botox wears off, they don’t look as prominent as they did six years ago.

Monique Ramsey (04:14):

Eva Sheie (04:15):
And I love that because in a way I can actually go longer between now because those muscles have gotten smaller in my forehead.

Monique Ramsey (04:23):
Yeah, no I think like I like it to smooth my forehead and I still have animation, you know, it, it doesn’t mean that if you have a whole bunch of units you’re gonna be frozen. I think that’s a huge misconception that, oh God, if you’re having 70 units, you look like a freak. No. If it’s being done right and being done well and being put around the face where you need it, you actually look really natural.

Eva Sheie (04:49):
It’s not more units in the same place, it’s more units around your face. It’s in more places. Okay. So help me understand who is a new patient cuz the definition is a little bit different than what you might assume.

Monique Ramsey (05:06):
Yeah, so if you’ve never been in our med spa as a patient, you qualify for this offer. So if you had a breast augmentation with Dr. Salazar but you never came to our med spa, you qualify for this offer. And if you’ve had Botox somewhere else and have never come to us, you so you don’t need to be new to Botox, really it’s just being new to our med spa. And so it’s just a really fun way to get in, learn about our providers and see the quality of experience that we give and results. And so hopefully that, you know, this will make you wanna come back.

Eva Sheie (05:43):
It will. I’m sure it will. All right, so my last question then is I have come to see you, I’ve gotten this great new patient offer, but I, I’m already looking forward to my next appointment in three to six months. What is the price going to be for me at my next visit?

Monique Ramsey (06:02):
So at the next visit we recommend, if you love us, which we know you will, is that you join our GlamFam. And the GlamFam membership is like a VIP loyalty program where you pay one fee that gets you 12 months of preferred pricing, discounts, special offers, things that other people can’t get. So if you need more than 40 units at your first visit or if you are even thinking, you know, when you wanna come back in three months, you wanna get that member price, which is $12.95 a unit, that’s the member price. And I think if it’s not the GlamFam, it’s like $14.50 per unit. So it’s a pretty big savings. Think of it kind of like a Costco membership. You pay the $120 and then you’re gonna get preferred pricing all year long. And the discounts really go anywhere from 10% on Botox to 15% on almost everything else to even 20% when you do packages. So for example, CoolSculpting, when you’re buying multiple cycles or a, a set of three HydraFacials or anything where you’re buying at a bigger quantity, you you’re gonna get even better bonus like 20% off pricing for certain things. It always pays for itself. I think we’re in our 13th year and we’ve had thousands and thousands of members save every year. I’ve never had anybody say I want my money back because it’s such a good deal.

Eva Sheie (07:41):
That’s amazing. I have a bunch of points in my Alle account and I also, you know, when Botox offered the BOGO gift cards, I bought a couple of those because I knew I was gonna get more treatment, and can I combine those with this?

Monique Ramsey (07:56):
Absolutely, yes. So if, if there’s a manufacturer rebate, the biggest with Botox is the Alle program. It’s their rewards program through Allergan and everything you buy through Allergan, so whether it’s Botox, Juvederm, Skin Medica, DiamondGlow facials, Kybella, CoolSculpting, all of those things you get points through Alle, and then like you say, they, they do special offers where they, you know, buy one get one gift cards around the holidays. And so when you get checked out we’ll be giving you your GlamFam discount but then also whatever Alle rewards you have and you know, maybe you don’t have anything to redeem on that visit, but whatever you had done treatment wise, let’s say you had 72 units of Botox, that’s gonna go into Alle so that for next time you might have $10 in rewards. It really all does add up.

Eva Sheie (08:52):
Last time I was in, I think they took off over $200 because I had gift cards and I had Alle points. It was great. It’s so much fun to get that much of a discount.

Monique Ramsey (09:02):

Okay, so what if I prefer one of the other neuromodulators like Dysport or Xeomin? If you also offer those products, do you have the same offer, if that’s my preference?

Monique Ramsey (10:01):
Yes we do. And it might be slightly different in terms of units cuz I think their units are slightly different than, than Botox units. But yes, you would talk to your injector and our staff will give you the same equivalent of this new patient offer for Dysport or for Xeomin.

Eva Sheie (10:22):

You can do either book straight for your treatment, or you can ask for a consult first. We do uh, zoom consults and you can also call us and you can also text us. So we can put all those links in the show notes. You can email us, we’re here for you. But really I think the online booking is super easy. You can pick your provider, pick your day, pick your location. Cuz now we have Carlsbad and La Jolla and Carlsbad is open Monday through Saturday. So there’s Saturday appointments and they’re open till 8:00 PM Monday through Friday. So you have a little later if you wanna do it after work. And there’s no expiration on this by the way,

When you go to book online. I think it’s important to know that you don’t have to pick a provider, you can just choose a virtual consultation and then choose any provider. So if you wanna get in fast, and I seriously, like you cannot go wrong with any of these injectors. They are all the best of the best.
