Speaker (00:07):
You are listening to The La Jolla Cosmetic Podcast.

Monique Ramsey (00:14):
Well, I have a very special person here with me today for this grand opening here in Carlsbad. It’s our employee preview event. And, and this is my very, very favorite enthusiastic friend named April. And April. I, you’ll have to explain what you do, cuz April does a little bit of everything, but April and I have known each other. I don’t know, I feel like as long as my son’s been alive. And he’s 25.

April (00:39):
Yes.

Monique Ramsey (00:40):
So she, you worked back at Inform, which, which is a software company that we had started out of our practice. And I think that’s when you and I first met

April (00:49):
Yes. When you were the practice manager at La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Center and there was only a surgery center and you and Marie had decided to kind of launch the training and development center where you were doing weekend courses, a little bit of software and a little bit of practice management and yeah, I mean, that’s

Monique Ramsey (01:09):
A long time ago.

April (01:10):
five, five kids between us and, um, three locations later. We’re both still

Monique Ramsey (01:15):
Here. You’re here. I know. Craziness.

April (01:17):
Craziness. It’s exciting.

Monique Ramsey (01:18):
I mean, it’s really fun. And so April, well, not technically a member of the marketing team, this girl has more interesting, like her brain doesn’t shut off. She’s always thinking of something like, Hey, what if we do this ? So tell everybody what a little bit about what you do currently or what’s your actual title? Cause I don’t even know.

April (01:38):
My title is Director of Patient Services, which I think doesn’t really describe what I do. I, I, as Monique indicated, have worked with Marie for some probably 25 plus years in several of her companies starting with the software and then the real patient ratings platform that we launched in 2013. In 2020, I came and actually joined the third company that she has, La Jolla Cosmetic, because as a software developer, somewhere along the line, she allowed technology to erupt in her practice . And when I joined this amazing organization, they were using 12 software applications and she realized that it, while very effective, may need to be peered down in order to improve experience for everybody. So she brought me on to basically do an overhaul of the software platforms. And during the last two and a half years, I’ve done a little of everything from human resources to training to management to marketing. And just about on the tail end, I think of implementing, um, new high tech, state-of-the-art software for our practices. Yeah. Which, um, is, you know, software 2.0 in an environment that we were always very effective. So

Monique Ramsey (02:56):
Well, and it’s, as we’re growing, I think this is, it’s become mission critical, I guess, and it to, to use a scientific kind of techy term, but really because now it’s not just the first floor in the third floor in the XiMed building. Now it’s, you know, Carlsbad and maybe next year, two years or later it’ll be somewhere else. And so we have to be able to be all connected. And so it really, you know, it’s, it’s a challenge. It’s a challenging thing. So why we’re here today, we’re talking about our glam giveaway sweepstakes and some lucky person is going to win a $6,000 gift card to the med spa here in Carlsbad. So April, if you had $6,000 at your disposal, what would you spend it on?

April (03:46):
So $6,000. My, oh my. It’s like being a kid in the cosmetic med spa candy shop. And I mean, two of my favorite things candy and med spa services. Oh my goodness gracious. I have to say, I follow a lot of leading edge surgeons and med spas across the country and I’ve been actually very interested in wanting to take the threads outside of the face and do some cool stuff on the body. Um, I’ve got a little, got a desire to maybe do it on my thighs, possibly even on my stomach. I know that one of our providers, Khan, has done this type of service using the threads to basically do the tightening, um, in areas that you otherwise couldn’t tighten. And when you combine it with stuff like maybe microneedling to get rid of some of the crepiness on the skin, I mean I could, I could just, um, fly back to when we first met 20 someone years ago with just a couple of threads here and a couple of threads there between friends. It would be very, very, very exciting. Although I think I’d far surpassed the $6,000, but,

Monique Ramsey (04:49):
Well, you know, yeah, those little threads are, they’re so many different kinds, but those little things for being tiny little things, they’re very expensive little things, but they work, they work miracles. But I love the idea that, you know, maybe if it’s your thighs or your knees or like even I’ve heard you can use ’em on the chest, like the decolletage, like it’s, I mean, gosh, you could put them anywhere.

April (05:12):
The nice thing is they’re versatile and it’s natural over time. So it’s not like the “Wow, what exactly did you do?” It’s somebody who sees you over and over again, they’re like, you’re doing something .

Monique Ramsey (05:26):

April (05:26):
You know I’m just going to the gym a bunch. That’s what it is.

Monique Ramsey (05:28):
That’s right. It’s just, yeah. So, well that’s, I love the fact that they’ve really come such a long way. I remember having a client a long time ago in Beverly Hills and Threads, you know, 12 years ago, it was a whole different thing and they would put these things in your face and they would tighten. And you had these like cat-like whiskers out for like a week and then you’d go back in and they’d tighten ’em again and they’d cut ’em. And it was this whole really sort of very odd, and I don’t wanna say barbaric, but it was weird. I’m like, who would ever do this? And now they’re a whole next generation. So it’s very safe. The thread itself is suture. Right? Right. It’s something that they’ve been using in the body for over 50 years and very, very benign and safe. But it’s like the, the way that they’ve done the technology of, you know, there’s “spirally” ones and there’s barbed ones and they do all these different things and they can be used in all these different places. So I’m, I’m with you. I think $6,000 would be in the thread department would be, would be really fun. And I love the fact that you’re sort of doing your typical April think outside the box. Like where else could we put them? Yes. Well, and I’ll be your guinea pig.

April (06:36):
And I will be your Guinea pig on the thread topic. I mean the beauty of working in this industry, you go to these trade shows and they’re like looking for a volunteer

Monique Ramsey (06:44):
Right

April (06:44):
Here,

Monique Ramsey (06:45):
Right here. I’m in the tra, I’m walking up and down Row D, Row E of the trade show and they just grab you, you know, sit down,

April (06:53):
It, it can be a plus or minus as you do end up walking out with uh, you know, a little thread sticking out of your face. or an indentation. But all for science, right? I mean that’s all for sight. That is how we’re able to do these cool things is people like me took one for the team all these years

Monique Ramsey (07:08):
In the trade shows. Well, you know, and I think that is something I always thought if, if anything ever went wrong, I’m in the perfect place for them to fix it. Mm-hmm. , you know, and luckily that’s never happened. But you know, we have such a dedicated team who really want our patients to be happy. And I think that is where that trust comes in. And it’s like, yeah, experiment on me cuz what’s the worst that can happen , you know, we can, well we might have to fix something and we’ve learned something, but, but the best that can happen could be amazing. So anyway. Well thanks for coming on. Thank you so much. Now you get to go tag some other lucky individual to come in and sit down in this, in this chair and I’m gonna give you a magnet. So welcome to the podcast, Madison.

Madison (07:52):
Thank you.

Monique Ramsey (07:53):
So tell us what you do at the center and tell me your first thoughts about the new location here in Carlsbad.

Madison (07:59):
Yeah, definitely. So I am a patient coordinator here at La Jolla Cosmetic. So, uh, just spending a lot of time with the patients and everything. And first thoughts about the new location is it’s absolutely beautiful. Uh, it’s super fresh. It’s really light, airy, it’s super welcoming to all of our patients. So we’ve been having a really fun time so far here.

Monique Ramsey (08:20):
So we have a thing called the Glam Giveaway Sweepstakes. Mm-hmm. . And there’s two ways to enter. You can enter by, if you have a treatment here at La Jolla Cosmetic and Carlsbad, between March 1st and April 25th, you’re automatically entered to win and or you can post on social media. So we have a special form. You can come here to Carlsbad, take pictures inside, take pictures outside, make a post, do a video, and then you fill out a form, put the URL of the post and then you’re entered. And you can do that as many times as you want. And the prize is amazing. So we have $6,000 gift card. Wow. And we have some other lower level gift cards, but that’s the, the main prize is $6,000 gift card to the med spa here in Carlsbad. So if you were to win, not that you’re eligible, but if you were , what would you spend that on? Would you spend it all on one thing or multiple things? What would you do with $6,000?

Madison (09:20):
I would definitely, uh, spend it on our Morpheus8 device. So it’s a new addition to the new location. Uh, so all of our providers are super excited to have this device in. It’s gonna have amazing results. Uh, staff and patients are already absolutely loving it. Um, and it typically can take a few sessions really to see the full results that you may be looking for. And so I would use the Morpheus eight device and do those three sessions. That’s what I would do with the gift card.

Monique Ramsey (09:46):
Okay. So now you’ve piqued my interest . So what is it and how does it help people?

Madison (09:51):
Kind of like how I like to describe it to patients, uh, who haven’t heard it before is it’s kind of a cross between microneedling and a laser. So, um, it’s gonna have fine tips similar to microneedling, but it heats up similar to a laser and so it’s gonna kind of get you amazing results, but with really minimal downtime, which is really neat. So with a lot of our ablative lasers, uh, you know, you’re gonna have some downtime, you know, maybe even up to a week depending on which one you’re doing. But with the Morpheus the next couple days, your skin’s gonna be a little rosy. The texture may be, you know, a little more gritty than usual, but other than that you’re able to wear makeup, you’re able to go about your day-to-day activities, you know, most people maybe wouldn’t even notice that you had something done. And then after, you know, a few sessions of it, you see beautiful results.

Monique Ramsey (10:37):
Wow. Mm-hmm. . And so does it tighten to or does it lift or does it do any, or is it more texture related?

Madison (10:44):
It does a little bit of everything. Oh. Which is really neat. So the Morpheus has, you know, a few different settings that our providers are able to use and then there’s different tips and pieces that can be used with it as well. So depending on what it is that you’re looking for, um, you know, it can lift and tighten the skin, it can help with general resurfacing, things like that. If it’s more texturizing that concerns patients. So, uh, I think that’s what’s really great about the device is our providers are really able to use it in a way that would help our patients the most.

Monique Ramsey (11:12):
I saw on one of our, uh, training videos, somebody getting it done on their tummy. Mm-hmm. . So where can you use the Morpheus8? And what was I looking at when I saw somebody getting it on their stomach?

Madison (11:25):
Yeah, so, uh, I think she was doing it to her abdomen. Uh, she’s got, you know, a few very minor stretch marks from when she had her baby and just some looser skin. So it really can help with scars and then it can also help with lifting and tightening that skin after you have a baby.

Monique Ramsey (11:41):
Now is it ever combined with anything else?

Madison (11:44):
I think you definitely could combine it with something else, uh, especially if you were looking to also treat pigmentation at the same time as lifting and tightening your skin.

Monique Ramsey (11:52):
Mm-hmm. . Awesome. Well thanks for coming on the podcast. We’re here, of course. We’re here live at Carlsbad. This is really nice. We should do this more often. Thank you.

Madison (12:01):
We should. Thank you so much for having me.

Monique Ramsey (12:02):
Well thanks for coming on. And hey, guess who’s here today? . I’ve got Barbie here. Yeah. I don’t know if you guys have met Barbie in our La Jolla office, but she is a ton of fun. No wealth of knowledge. So Barbie, introduce yourself, tell everybody what you do.

Barbie (12:18):
Yeah. Hi, I’m Barbie and I work, uh, front desk now at the Carlsbad location and I’ve been working here for, I wanna say about a year and a half now.

Monique Ramsey (12:29):
Wow. Yeah. Time flies.

Barbie (12:30):
It really does. .

Monique Ramsey (12:32):
Especially when you’re aging backwards as we do. Oh yeah. Yeah. So time flies forward, but we’re aging backward and it’s some time warp continuum thing. I’m not trying

Barbie (12:41):
, I’m not, um, the best at quantum physics, but you know, I feel like we’re proof of that.

Monique Ramsey (12:46):
, Hopefully.

Barbie (12:47):
Right. I know.

Monique Ramsey (12:48):
So you’re up here in Carlsbad now? Mm-hmm. ? Yes. And how do you like it?

Barbie (12:51):
Oh my god, I love it. It’s such a breath of fresh air. You walk in, there’s sunlight and then just all the white interior. Mm-hmm. . It’s such a vibe. .

Monique Ramsey (13:01):
Yeah. It is. It is. It is. Okay. So the question of the day is because we have our glam giveaway Sweepstakes. Yes. And the winner will get $6,000 gift card to the Med Spa here in Carlsbad. If you won, what would you do with that $6,000?

Barbie (13:17):
Oh, that is such a good question. I’m so happy that you asked me. I would do Morpheus, my whole face, neck, and then I would even do my abdomen again cuz I already did it once.

Monique Ramsey (13:28):
Oh, you did?

Barbie (13:29):
Yes. It’s amazing. I only did one treatment, Uhhuh . And I could tell you that I already see the difference.

Monique Ramsey (13:34):
What was the issue you were trying to solve, I guess? Yeah. And how did it, how did it improve?

Barbie (13:39):
Yeah. So definitely skin tightening. Oh, skin tightening. And then, uh, melting the fat away. You know that little ? I know you look at me like I don’t, so shockingly I do have a little tightening.

Monique Ramsey (13:50):
I don’t believe it.

Barbie (13:51):
, I’ll show you . And now I feel like I’m just completely flat and like I’m tightened.

Monique Ramsey (13:58):
How nice.

Barbie (13:59):
Yeah. And I feel like people who are already lean, it enhances your abdomen more. Oh, oh yeah. At least for me, that’s what I, yeah, that’s what I noticed. So I got treated by Anne. Okay. She’s amazing. And I had so much anxiety going in and she really just helped me calm down. And she goes, this would be great in addition to cool sculpting, especially for patients who are really trying to slam down. It’s good for the tightening and then it also just melts the fat away or freezes the fat away.

Monique Ramsey (14:27):
I love this.

Barbie (14:28):
Yeah.

Monique Ramsey (14:28):
This is exciting. Well thanks for coming on the podcast Barbie.

Barbie (14:31):
Of course. Thank you for having me.

Monique Ramsey (14:32):
Oh, it was fun. Okay, now you get to go tag somebody. All right. So we have Natalie joining us. So Natalie, tell everybody about what you do here at the center and are you, which location you’re working in?

Natalie (14:46):
All righty. So, um, I work for the call center. I work at home. I work in La Jolla on Tuesday. So I work in Carlsbad on Friday. So I’m a floater hybrid.

Monique Ramsey (14:58):
Oh, it’s probably actually really fun cuz you kind of get to see everybody.

Natalie (15:01):
It is. It’s so nice. I get a little bit of La Jolla, I get my home and I get Carlsbad.

Monique Ramsey (15:06):
Okay, so the question of the day is, if you were gonna win $6,000 gift card to the med spa here in Carlsbad, what would you choose to do?

Natalie (15:14):
Oh my gosh. So many things. It’s hard to narrow it down, but I would really focus on lasers. I would really try to get a T R L or maybe even a Halo fish neck and chest. And then from there I would probably do some filler and some threads.

Monique Ramsey (15:31):
Oh, oh wow. . Well, yeah. You know, $6,000 is a lot of stuff. Yeah. So, okay, so the TRL laser tell, tell people a little bit about that.

Natalie (15:40):
Yeah, it’s a resurfacing laser, so it’s gonna really help target acne scars, pigmentation, um, those deep pitted acne scars too, and kind of resurface that whole skin and make that skin tone more even too. It’s also gonna help with fine lines and wrinkles. A lot of the people do like Halo full face and then they’ll do TRL scars, Uhhuh . So you’re gonna be targeting all those brown spots, the red spots, those anti-aging marks, and then get in there with TRL and resurface that skin with the scars. Yeah, it’s a good treatment, .

Monique Ramsey (16:15):
It is a good treatment and it, that’s one of the ones where I think you have to sort of plan ahead a little bit. Right?

Natalie (16:23):
Definitely.

Monique Ramsey (16:23):
Have you ever had a laser before?

Natalie (16:25):
I have years ago. Um, not here when I was working at a dermatology office, so I would love to get one here eventually.

Monique Ramsey (16:34):
. Yeah. Yeah. Well thanks for coming on the podcast.

Natalie (16:36):
Thank you for having me.

Monique Ramsey (16:40):
Well thanks for coming on the podcast Kayla.

Kayla (16:41):
Thank you for having,

Monique Ramsey (16:42):
You can remind everybody where where you work, what you do. Mm-hmm. Tell everybody you’re, we, we just had you on right? So We’ll,

Kayla (16:49):
Yeah, not too long ago. For the 12 days of beauty.

Monique Ramsey (16:51):
12 days of beauty. Mm-hmm. . So a little intro. Mm-hmm. , tell us about what you’re doing now.

Kayla (16:55):
Um, so I am the practice manager at the La Jolla location. Super exciting. Um, came in here this morning, it looks beautiful. Um, I just think everything that we’ve had talked about over the last year or so, and probably even more than that, just kind of full vision in here. Um, the energy, the vibes, it’s very vibrant. Um, very open. Um, I think our team’s gonna have a really great time here, but I also think the patients are going to love it, whether that’s new or existing. Um, I’m just excited for the staff, the, the patients, um, and even more so the providers. Um, really excited to see it all kind of come together, you know, as we start to fill the books. Um, yeah.

Monique Ramsey (17:36):
Yeah. And so then in La Jolla, tell me, um, what now that everybody’s kind of finally moved, cuz everybody was all smushed in together Yeah. for a few months to train mm-hmm. . And now is it like, now you can kind of get bearings again and

Kayla (17:50):
Yeah.I know.

Monique Ramsey (17:50):
Feel like you’ve got your team, you’ve got your core people.

Kayla (17:53):
Exactly. I literally walked in on Wednesday, March 1st and I said, good morning, it’s March 1st. And you all have been chosen Said, you’ve all been chosen for here at La Jolla location. Um, but no, I think, you know, for a while it was super challenging to almost like sit on top of each other and just, you know, be so close to each other. But I almost think our team needed it before the split. Um, I think we just have grown overall together. Um, we can really kind of rely on one another and just create that team effort. Um, so although it wasn’t the most, you know, comfortable situation to just, you know, share a close space, um, I think it, it was worth the bond that everyone has created now. And so now when we message over our team’s chats and things like that, um, we, we speak each other’s language now, Uhhuh, , so Uhhuh, um, no, I’m thankful for those times. I’m really excited that, um, I was thinking the other day, I went to send our team a message on my way into the office just to help get them prepared for the day.

(18:55):
And I thought, oh my gosh, who else do I put on this chat? Uhhuh, it was just, you know, it was just like a shorter chat than what it normally is.

Monique Ramsey (19:03):
Not 50 people .

Kayla (19:04):
Exactly. Um, and I saw, I thought, well, that was easy, but then I was like, oh, I’m gonna miss my other people. Um, and then I thought, you know, just walking in, um, just a breath of fresh air, honestly, of everyone having their own space. I said the one thing I’m looking forward to the most is just having that one-on-one time, um, with the staff and just to, you know, circle back and touch base with everyone. Make sure that, um, they feel supported, um, through this transition and looking over the workflow and everything. So, no, I’m really excited. Um, I, I, I also love too that some of our employees are, you know, going to kind of be split. Um, so they get best of both worlds at loca, the both locations.

Monique Ramsey (19:45):
Yeah. We were just talking to Natalie and she was saying she’s, I can’t remember her her term for it, but it was like hybrid something, something. Cause she’s at home, she’s at La Jolla and she’s here in Carlsbad.

Kayla (19:54):
Exactly. Yeah.

Monique Ramsey (19:55):
Which is really nice. It’s really nice you get to see everybody.

Kayla (19:57):
No, yes, absolutely. And it’s nice too because when the patients call in, they’ll ask for, you know, specific employee, especially Natalie. I love to hear it . Um, and I’m like, yes. So she’ll be up both and it just feels so good to say that. And they just, they feel taken care of.

Monique Ramsey (20:11):
Right. Somebody that they know that knows them.

Kayla (20:14):
Exactly. Um, and then to know too that those well trusted team members are then, you know, out training our new employees to make sure that we’re still giving that quality experience, um, to our brand. So, yeah. Yeah.

Monique Ramsey (20:28):
Okay. So our question of the day is we’ve got our glam sweepstakes going on and the person who wins will win a $6,000 gift card to La Jolla Cosmetic, Med Spa here in Carlsbad. So if you were to win, what would you spend that $6,000 on?

Kayla (20:46):
There’s two treatments that stand out to me. , I would absolutely try out the Morpheus. Um, I’ve seen great results from our staff members, um, just out researching it too. Um, I would do face, or I would do body, probably abdomen. Um, it’s great for the laxity. Um, and then two, I just, this is always my favorite. I would also kind of go back and forth between the Morpheus or the threads.

Monique Ramsey (21:10):
Oh yes. The threads are amazing. Yeah. They really are. They are. And they, you know, what I love is they really, um, give you an instant lift, but you also, then it gets better over time and it lasts. Mm-hmm. , you know, it’s not gonna last 15 years mm-hmm. , it’s gonna, but you know, it’s not surgery. Mm-hmm. , it really does give you kind of the best of both worlds. And, um, so now the Morpheus eight is here in the Carlsbad office. Mm-hmm. and, um, so, but we do have some things in La Jolla that aren’t in, in Carlsbad mm-hmm. . So I think patients will be, depending on what their, what their,

Kayla (21:49):
Their goals are.

Monique Ramsey (21:50):
Looking for. Like, I think MiraDry is something that’s one of our most popular procedures. And that’s gonna be in La Jolla. And then Morpheus8. So, so you might have to like, make a trek down to La Jolla or up to Carlsbad mm-hmm. . But the winner of the sweepstakes will be having their treatments here in Carlsbad. So that’s exciting. So tell me kind of what’s your whole, um, of this new office, like, what’s your favorite part?

Kayla (22:15):
I think, um, I think just the space is very spacious. Um, but there’s just a, there’s just a energy when you walk in. Um, cause it’s very open and it’s vibrant. Um, it, but it’s also calming at the same time. Um, and I, I think the space is beautiful, honestly. Um,

Monique Ramsey (22:33):
That’s interesting that you picked up on both of those things because this does really kind of combine both because it’s like this happy, positive energy, sort of like our, our brand and our team. But, but it also, you’re right, it does have that, it has that uplifting happiness in the art mm-hmm. , but then you also have that kind of, it feels comfortable and calming and Yeah. And definitely not intimidating. Exactly. I think that’s something that if you’ve never gone to a med spa before, you might be like, whoa, what’s, what happens when I get there? . Mm-hmm. , is it gonna be judgy or is it, you know, but this is very inviting.

Kayla (23:07):
Yeah, no, it is. It’s, it’s warm. It’s um, it’s bright and it’s calm all at the same time. Yeah. Yeah. So it feels great.

Monique Ramsey (23:13):
Well, thanks for coming on the podcast Kayla.

Kayla (23:15):
Thanks for having me.

Monique Ramsey (23:15):
You get one of our very special La Jolla Cosmetic Podcast magnets.

Kayla (23:20):
I love it.

Monique Ramsey (23:24):
Well, hello. Hi. So I have the pleasure of meeting and actually me for the first time. I’m getting to meet Dr. Diana Breister.

Dr. Breister (23:32):
How are you?

Monique Ramsey (23:32):
Good, how are you?

Dr. Breister (23:34):
Great.

Monique Ramsey (23:34):
So we’re here at the Med Spa in Carlsbad, and our big question of the day is we have a glam sweepstakes going on, and the winner of the, those sweepstakes will get a $6,000 gift card to use here at the Med Spa Carlsbad.

Dr. Breister (23:53):
Nice.

Monique Ramsey (23:53):
So our question is, if you won $6,000 to spend in the Med Spa, what would you use it on?

Dr. Breister (24:01):
Wow, that’s a, that’s a good question. There’s so many options. Um, I think that skin resurfacing is a very powerful tool, and that’s not something we can do surgically. Um, as a surgeon, I can always fix, um, skin problems, wrinkles, things like that. But that fine texture of the skin is what really is. Um, it’s beneficial to have some lasers. So with the resurfacing that they do here, I think the Morpheus and the Fraxel, um, that would definitely be what I would use that for.

Monique Ramsey (24:33):
So as you’re new to our practice and we’re doing, I think we are recording on Tuesday, we’re gonna actually do a little meet Dr. Breister episode. Yeah. And talk about some, um, different topics of, you know, what you’re specializing in. But tell everybody a little bit about you just joined the center and, and what, what you’re, what you love to do in your, in your, during your surgical day.

Dr. Breister (24:56):
Um, I love, um, I love number one, uh, helping women feel better about themselves. You know, I think that’s kind of the crux of the whole thing is as women, we always have little things that bother us or just bug us or after we have kids things, our bodies change. So, you know, my main focus is I like women to feel better about themselves. So how that is achieved is obviously through plastic surgery. That’s, you know, that’s what I am very good at and can really help women, uh, figure out which procedure is gonna meet their goals. Whether it be an eye rejuvenation or a face and neck lift, or a tummy tuck, or a breast dog, or a little extra skin here or there. Um, those are the things I love to do. So, um, yeah, it’s all about women and helping them feel good.

Monique Ramsey (25:45):
Now, do you also, I would assume, do you have men come to you also?

Dr. Breister (25:50):
I do. Yeah. Of course. There’s lots of men who, who, who come as well. And men just like us, have, have issues too. They have some body issues too. Um, so yeah, I welcome men into the practice and I see a lot of them. And I think I can also make them feel very comfortable and relaxed and in achieving something that could be a little intimidating, you know?

Monique Ramsey (26:08):
Yeah. Do you think in your time in, because you’ve been in practice over 20 years, years, right?

Dr. Breister (26:13):
Yes. Yes.

Monique Ramsey (26:13):
So in that time in practice, have you seen a, a big difference in kind of, because I think women have always been pretty open, especially in southern California, to enhancing themselves, bettering themselves, doing whatever they wanna do to feel good. But men, I don’t know that they’ve always had the permission or that they felt confident enough. Do you feel like that’s changed a little over time?

Dr. Breister (26:34):
I do. I think it’s becoming, uh, more acceptable for men to, you know, objectively look at themselves and see if there is something that they wanna change and they feel more empowered to do that. So I think there’s a, there’s been a nice shift that way.

Monique Ramsey (26:46):
Yeah. I I, I’d like to see when, you know, if I see on social media or on different reality shows and guys are like, yeah, I did this. It’s like, fine,

Dr. Breister (26:54):
Normalize it.

Monique Ramsey (26:55):
Get over it.

Dr. Breister (26:55):
Exactly. Right. We’re allowed to, we’re allowed to like how we look too.

Monique Ramsey (26:59):
. Yeah. Right. Exactly. Well, thanks for coming on and we’ll have a longer, we’ll have a longer episode next week, but

Dr. Breister (27:06):
Absolutely.

Monique Ramsey (27:06):
We’re so happy to welcome you to the practice and, um, it’s really fun. I was like, wait, I, when they opened the door, brought her in, I’m like, I know her, but I don’t know her. I’ve never met her. So it’s wonderful to meet you.

Dr. Breister (27:16):
Oh, Monique, it’ll be really fun on Tuesday.

Monique Ramsey (27:18):
Yeah. Yeah.

Dr. Breister (27:19):
Okay.

Monique Ramsey (27:19):
Thank you.

Dr. Breister (27:20):
You’re welcome.

Monique Ramsey (27:24):
So we’re here on the podcast and we’re here at the, the preview event for the employees of the Carlsbad location and we’re here with the medical director, Dr. John Smoot, plastic surgeon. And so my que our question is we’ve got a glam giveaway sweepstakes and patients can enter, and then we’ll be giving away at the end a $6,000 gift card to the med spa. Oh, nice. Yeah. So here’s your, here’s your curveball question. If you won $6,000 to the med spa, what would you use it on?

Dr. Smoot (27:58):
Well, if you’re asking me personally or what I think someone else would be using it for? Two different questions.

Monique Ramsey (28:01):
Well, all right. Let’s go with the first one. You personally.

Dr. Smoot (28:05):
Well, I think my face is perfect otherwise, but , if I were to do something, I would probably get, um, some laser skin care, maybe a little Botox, but I just don’t like getting repeated injections.

Monique Ramsey (28:19):
Yeah. Yeah.

Dr. Smoot (28:20):
But mostly it’d be skincare for me.

Monique Ramsey (28:22):
Yeah. And then what, what would you say in your patient base? Like what’s the one thing that you think most people could benefit from that maybe they don’t know about?

Dr. Smoot (28:32):
Skincare.

Monique Ramsey (28:32):
Skincare?

Dr. Smoot (28:33):
They’re so advanced in our skincare techniques nowadays, the different lasers, the modalities we use, and people have that idea of the old chemical peels. They still work. They’re not bad, but they’re brutal. And, uh, some of the older lasers, the CO2 lasers we used to use, but today we’re using their new erbuim lasers and the level of treatment can vary from very aggressive to just, you know, a couple of days down. That’s the beauty of what we can do now.

Monique Ramsey (29:04):
Yeah. And I think that’s one of those kind of nice finishing touches. It’s like, if you’re gonna have surgery, have Dr. Smoot do your face, neck, eyes, you know, do that facial rejuvenation, then there’s sort of that companion piece to it. To have skincare, have laser where you’re dealing with maybe the texture and with the overall glow, or

Dr. Smoot (29:27):
Absolutely. Now I’m a surgeon and I do a lot of facelifts and so forth, but you need to explain to patients that, you know, sometimes you gotta go in and do some body work. You’re straightening the frame, tending the fenders out, but it still needs a coat of paint. . And you’ll straighten, as you can straighten the sheets on a bed, but if it’s stained, it’s still stained. And that’s where the lasers come in and the things you can do to make the skin look better. So I look at it two different functions. I mean, what we can do to structurally enhance the face, things to tighten the skin, but you still gotta look at the covering, what the skin does. I mean the brown spots, melasmas, uh, red pigments, things like that. That’s where lasers can bring so much benefit.

Monique Ramsey (30:08):
Right, right. And I think, you know, most of the lasers, you know, we have so many different modalities, like you mentioned, that we really can treat a lot of the things. So I think it’s, it, it makes sense that, you know, we do have this sort of all under one roof mentality that from, you know, the very least invasive to the most invasive and everywhere in between. And really the strength is combining things where, you know, you might see. Now, how often do you, do you ever have patients do laser at the same time as a surgery?

Dr. Smoot (30:40):
Oh, yes. Oh, you can be done. And it’s not a bad thing to do now. You can’t be, depending on what you do sometimes you can’t be as aggressive, but if you’re gonna be down for a couple of weeks, you might as well get it all done at once.

Monique Ramsey (30:52):
, And if, and while you’re asleep, , you know?

Dr. Smoot (30:55):
It is. But the, of all the things you do, the laser’s the one they like the least in terms of recovery, because it takes a little more care and it takes a longer to heal. But the results can be quite impressive in terms of tightening the skin, making the, the skin look more homogeneous. That’s the biggest thing I should say. And getting some of those fine wrinkles. Now there’s some other things you can do topically to help, but that’s really the best thing to do for that, at least in my opinion it is.

Monique Ramsey (31:21):
Now do you do any, do you practice any skincare, sun care? Like, like the things that on your counter in the morning, in the bathroom? Do you, are you , are you one of the guys who has 12 products or zero ?

Dr. Smoot (31:35):
Well, when I’m, when I’m working, I’m indoors all the time. So putting skincare on my face, I, I don’t. But when I’m out fishing, when I’m out hunting and doing things like that, outdoor activities, yes. I, I put a sunblock on. I’m pretty good about that, so.

Monique Ramsey (31:50):
, That’s good, that’s good.

Dr. Smoot (31:51):
But it’s, when I’m living indoors, working indoors, I, I, I don’t tend to think about it.

Monique Ramsey (31:56):
The fluorescent lights aren’t doing too much damage. Maybe some.

Dr. Smoot (31:59):
No. They don’t seem to hurt my skin too much.

Monique Ramsey (32:01):
. Well, whatever you’re doing, you look, you look good. So, well thank you. We, we won’t have you change anything, but thanks for stopping by.

Dr. Smoot (32:08):
Well, it’s a pleasure.

Monique Ramsey (32:11):
So I’ve got here Rachel, who works in our surgery center, and tell us a little bit about what you’ve been doing with La Jolla Cosmetic and for how long?

Rachel (32:21):
Wow. Well, I just had my anniversary, so it’s been 13 years. I started actually, um, in the clinic and then I moved to the OR and I do, or, and recovery and I circulate. And now I’ve been helping again in the clinic with Dr. Swistun.

Monique Ramsey (32:41):
Oh, nice, nice.

Rachel (32:43):
Yeah. So I get to do a little bit of everything.

Monique Ramsey (32:44):
Nice. So our question of the day is we’ve got this glam giveaway sweepstakes happening, and so if you win, the winner’s gonna get $6,000 to spend in the med spa here in Carlsbad. Wow. So Rachel , if you won $6,000 to spend in the Med Spa, what would you spend it on?

Rachel (33:07):
Oh gosh, that’s so exciting. Um, I would definitely put it all in my face. . So threads for sure. Filler. I mean, I’ve, I’ve been using filler for several years now. Um, and nobody, actually, none of my friends or family even know it. Even my husband actually. They just think I age very gracefully, I guess.

Monique Ramsey (33:31):
And of course you do.

Rachel (33:32):
But I do tell them as if they ask, I said, oh my gosh, you have to keep your maintenance up and then be more graceful with, you know, your aging process. And, and then they get excited about it and they ask me questions. But I would definitely do, um, fillers, threads, um, and all the lasers are amazing. Oh my gosh. We have the best technology, like all the new stuff. The latest greatest, so.

Monique Ramsey (33:57):
Have you ever done a laser before?

Rachel (33:58):
I have. I did Ultherapy.

Monique Ramsey (33:59):
Okay.

Rachel (34:00):
Which I thought was amazing. Um, I had never even knew about it or heard about it. And, um, it was suggested and I got to do a training and it was one of the better, um, procedures I’ve had done, because the results are not immediate, but over time other people were telling me they noticed.

Monique Ramsey (34:19):
Ah-huh ,

Rachel (34:20):
Which was exciting.

Monique Ramsey (34:21):
Yeah. That’s I think one of those natural, you know, how to kind of age backwards, . Yeah. Or at least stay where you are, you know, even if, even if you don’t age for the next four years, you know, it’s maybe, you know, it’s interesting cuz some people go like, yeah, I feel like I look 10 years younger. But even if you just stay where you are for a few years. That’s, that’s huge. And like you’re talking about, you know, when doing things that are natural that people don’t notice, that’s the best compliment is that.

Rachel (34:50):
Absolutely.

Monique Ramsey (34:50):
It’s like, you still look great and like, why isn’t she aging like the rest of us?

Rachel (34:54):
Right. Looking like yourself, but just feeling a little bit more refreshed is is the goal.

Monique Ramsey (34:58):
Yeah. Yeah. So when you had the Ultherapy, did it hurt?

Rachel (35:03):
No. Cuz they give you, um, you know, they pre-medicate you if you want, like, if you have a ride or something. I actually didn’t have a ride, so I just took some Tylenol and um, numbing cream and actually I was, I was fine with it. Yeah. But they have all the good stuff.

Monique Ramsey (35:18):
They have all the good stuff. Yeah. Did you have your whole face or?

Rachel (35:21):
I had my neck and, and a little bit of my chest. And yeah, the pro-nox is a game changer. We’ve been using it for local procedures in the operating room and it’s so nice, so much easier for patients. You can control it yourself, you can hold it, you can take a little more if you want to back off and you still feel like, you know, you’re in control of the situation, you’re not too sedated. And yeah, definitely that would be the route to go.

Monique Ramsey (35:44):
So what kinds of things in the OR do you do under like if it’s like a little scar revision?

Rachel (35:49):
A little lipo revision, or yeah, or scar revision. We’ve done, um, lipo revisions with the pro-nox now and it’s, it’s been amazing.

Monique Ramsey (35:55):
How interesting. I didn’t know that. Yeah. Wow. I’m, I’m so glad we talked about this. I’m like, yeah, I didn’t know we could do that. Well, you know, a lot of the stuff we do in the or you do need anesthesia. Sure. But yeah, when for the little for the little things. Um, I think that’s, that’s nice to know. All right, well thanks Rachel.

Rachel (36:13):
Thank you.

Monique Ramsey (36:14):
So now you get to go outside and tag somebody. Tag, tag tag a friend and have them come in here and talk to me for five minutes.

Rachel (36:21):
I will. Thank you.

Monique Ramsey (36:25):
Thanks. So I’m gonna welcome you to the podcast. Please introduce yourself. Tell us how long you’ve been with La Jolla Cosmetic and what you do in the office.

Margie (36:34):
My name is Margie Thompson. I’m a certified medical assistant and I do a lot of, I help the nurses with the pre-ops, the post-ops. I check in people, check out people. I do all the EKGs and the blood work. And I’ve been with La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Center for about little over a year and I love it and I’m so happy.

Monique Ramsey (36:56):
Oh, nice.

Margie (36:57):
Everyone there is wonderful.

Monique Ramsey (36:59):
Where, where did you come from?

Margie (37:01):
I came from another plastic surgery center in La Jolla. And this is by far just the best. It’s just such a pleasure to come to work every day.

Monique Ramsey (37:11):
Oh, that’s so nice to hear. That’s nice to hear. So I don’t know if you’ve heard about our glam giveaway sweepstakes to get a chance to win the $6,000. So the question is, if you won $6,000 to the men’s spa here in Carlsbad, what would you use it on?

Margie (37:29):
It’s so hard because there’s so many things that I could use it on. I would think I would like, like Botox, the Morpheus8. I just heard fantastic things about the Morpheus8, how it regenerates the skin, the collagen helps with fine lines and wrinkles and the tightening. So I think that would probably be my, my go-to.

Monique Ramsey (37:52):
That’ll be your go-to. Yeah.

Margie (37:53):
. I just love the lasers. I think they’re very interesting and they’re great for regenerating the collagen and helping with the aging.

Monique Ramsey (38:02):
Yeah. So is, um, tell me your, like your kind of your first impressions of the office.

Margie (38:09):
Um, it’s just beautiful. It’s welcoming. It’s like you just feel like at home, easy to talk to people here. It’s just, I love it. It’s just bright, happy place to be.

Monique Ramsey (38:21):
Yeah. The vibe is really good. Yes. And it’s been really interesting to kind of hear, I’ve been asking kind of that same question to a lot of people and it’s that same, um, that same answer where it’s like welcoming and cheerful. And, um,

Margie (38:34):
That’s very helpful because people want that because then you get word of mouth and it just, yeah, goes further.

Monique Ramsey (38:42):
Yeah. Oh, well thanks for coming on. Oh, well thank you. So now you, now you get to tag the next person. So you get to go out there and grab a friend and have them come in here for a few minutes.

Margie (38:52):
I sure will. Thank you very much.

Monique Ramsey (38:54):
Thank you. Okay, so we’re back and I have a lovely lady sitting in front of me. Her name is Jollyn, is that right? Did I say it right? Yes. Yes she did. Her name is Jollyn. And tell us what you do in the office.

Jollyn (39:08):
I actually work in the Surgi Center and I’m a circulating nurse, so I’m in with all the operations of the doctors and it’s a great, it’s just a great facility and a great place to work and I love all the people that I work with.

Monique Ramsey (39:23):
Oh, nice. So our question of the day is Jollyn, if you had $6,000 to spend in the Med Spa what would you spend it on?

Jollyn (39:32):
Oh my gosh. I would probably have some skin resurfacing procedure of whichever laser they would tell me would be the most appropriate for my skin being my age. I’m on the older end and uh, I would be so excited to have something like that.

Monique Ramsey (39:53):
Okay. So see, was that easy? It was so easy.

Jollyn (39:57):
. Well, it’s true. .

Monique Ramsey (39:59):
Well, thank you. Thank you for coming on. So you get one of our fancy magnets. Oh, thank you. Thank you so much. And I’ll give you a couple of these. So if you have friends who wanna listen to our podcast. Absolutely. We’re up to almost a hundred episodes now.

Jollyn (40:12):
Seriously?

Monique Ramsey (40:13):
Yep.

Jollyn (40:13):
Oh my gosh,

Monique Ramsey (40:15):
. Yep. All right. Welcome back to the podcast Dr. Riedler.

Dr. Riedler (40:22):
Thanks for having me again.

Monique Ramsey (40:24):
Yeah, absolutely. You look so good in blue.

Dr. Riedler (40:26):
Oh, thank you.

Monique Ramsey (40:26):
That it is your color. gorgeous with your eyes. So our question today, I’ve actually got two questions. I lied, I said one, but there’s gonna be two. The first question is, tell me about your first thoughts about the, the new med spa here in Carlsbad.

Dr. Riedler (40:38):
I love it. It’s gorgeous. It’s nice and open and bright and spacious and really kind of a calm, nice aesthetic. Um, yeah, so I really like it. I’m excited.

Monique Ramsey (40:50):
Are you gonna be up here at all?

Dr. Riedler (40:53):
Um, I’m gonna probably mostly still be in La Jolla, but I’m sure I’ll make it up here.

Monique Ramsey (40:56):
Yeah, yeah. It’s probably easier to go up and down the elevator between, between surgery and, and injectables than it is up and down the five freeway. But, um, so our second question is, we’ve got a, a giveaway going on called the Glam Giveaway Sweepstakes. And patients who enter, they’ll be entered into win a $6,000 Med, med Spa gift card. So the question is, not that you need one thing , but if you were to use $6,000 in the med spa, what would you use it on?

Dr. Riedler (41:27):
That’s a good question. Well, I would say the, you know, the usual maintenance of Botox, you know, every three months. And then I really am excited about the Morpheus, the micro, the radiofrequency microneedling device that we got, which is great for skin tightening and texture and also, um, submental fat reduction. And you can also use it all over, all over the body, pretty much anywhere, anywhere you want. I’m really excited about that. Um, do I, do I get to keep going? ?

Monique Ramsey (41:59):
Yes. Okay. Well we’ve got $6,000, so I know it’s, it’s all, it’s all funny money . So what’s, what’s the wishlist? .

Dr. Riedler (42:07):
And then, um, I also really like, um, PRP, platelet rich plasma. And so I would add that to the RF microneedling, the Morpheus treatment, cuz I think it really helps the outcome. It helps your healing. Um, and then of course skincare, um, there, yeah, we have a lot of good skincare lines that I really like.

Monique Ramsey (42:26):
Yeah. What’s your favorite product?

Dr. Riedler (42:28):
Hmm?

Monique Ramsey (42:29):
If you had to pick one?

Dr. Riedler (42:31):
If I had to pick one, I would say the Elastin skin restorative serum. I really noticed a difference in my skin using that.

Monique Ramsey (42:38):
Do you use it every day?

Dr. Riedler (42:40):
Mm-hmm ? Yep. I use it every day. Um, and then what else? And then BBL, the broadband light, um, for, you know, pigment. Like, you know, I have some pigment on my chest and my back and my face. And so that’s, that’s probably the last thing I would, I would do.

Monique Ramsey (42:56):
That’s a fun, that’s a fun wishlist. . I like it.

Dr. Riedler (43:00):
Little bit of everything.

Monique Ramsey (43:01):
A little bit of everything. Exactly.

Dr. Riedler (43:03):
Thank You.

Monique Ramsey (43:03):
Thank you Dr. Riedler.

(43:08):
So we’ve got Amy Biggs in the house here in the Carlsbad location today for our employee preview. And so Amy is a PA, she works in our La Jolla office and welcome back.

Amy (43:23):
Thank you. I’m so happy to be here and to finally get to see the Carlsbad location. It’s so beautiful.

Monique Ramsey (43:30):
Yeah. What were your first impressions as you came in?

Amy (43:32):
Bright, airy, welcoming, inviting. Just beautiful.

Monique Ramsey (43:38):
Yeah. Oh, that’s so nice. So our question of the day is, so if you won $6,000, what would you use it on?

Amy (43:46):
Oh my goodness. What wouldn’t I use it on?

Monique Ramsey (43:49):
? How do you narrow it down? But yeah.

Amy (43:52):
Yeah. I mean, I, I love anything that’s going to be preventative. Of course it is important to, you know, uh, improve, improve things that, that are changing over time. But I like to be more preventative, so I would definitely, you know, come in and have a facial, some facials. I would definitely have some treatments that are gonna stimulate co collagen, like Sculptra, um, Morpheus laser. I love the Morpheus laser. It’s so amazing. I had one done and I’m just in love with it.

Monique Ramsey (44:27):
Where, where did they, where did they do it?

Amy (44:30):
Well, I did my whole and my neck and then my area of concern is around the eyes, the creepy skin around the eyes. And it just did an amazing job of already tightening the skin.

Monique Ramsey (44:40):
Wow.

Amy (44:41):
I actually had two treatments around the eyes so far.

Monique Ramsey (44:43):
Wow. And what was the healing like from that?

Amy (44:46):
It was so easy. I’ve had a lot of procedures done in the past. I’ve had CO2 lasers, erbium lasers, resurfacing, um, and this was by far the easiest recovery really. I did not swell very much at all. It was a little bit red, but it was easy to cover after a couple of days. And I’d say, you know, by about day five, you would never even know I had it done.

Monique Ramsey (45:09):
Wow. And did you feel like an instant result or is it one of those things that also is sort of like Ultherapy or Sculptra where it builds over time? Or is it sort of more immediate?

Amy (45:20):
Well, it is a, it is a result that builds over time, but I really felt like I noticed a difference after a week. And some of that is just swelling, a little bit of residual swelling that we have in the tissue, but I think it’s been maybe a month now since my first treatment and I really notice a big difference.

Monique Ramsey (45:38):
Wow. Oh, this is exciting. And it’ll be fun to see sort of like some progress photos.

Amy (45:43):
Yes.

Monique Ramsey (45:44):
But yeah. Oh, I’m, I’m excited. Well, thanks Amy for sitting down for a minute. I got her right before she walked out the door. So , I’m, I’m glad. Like, who’s next? Oh, you are .

Amy (45:55):
I was in the right spot at the right time.

Monique Ramsey (45:56):
Her purse is around her shoulder, but we got her. So thank you for coming on.

Amy (46:01):
Oh, thanks for having me.

Monique Ramsey (46:04):
Welcome back Dr. Brahme.

Dr. Brahme (46:06):
Oh, it’s nice to see you.

Monique Ramsey (46:07):
Nice to see you too. You’re looking good.

Dr. Brahme (46:09):
Thank you. Feeling good.

Monique Ramsey (46:11):
Yeah. So tell me your first impressions about the new office.

Dr. Brahme (46:14):
I think it’s marvelous. I mean, it’s pretty, it’s clean. It’s not, um, you know, the parking is great, which is really a plus. And the rooms are beautiful and, uh, it’s comfortable, you know, medical, but it’s not scary medical, you know? And it’s brand, it smells new. I like it. It’s like a new car.

Monique Ramsey (46:40):
. Exactly, exactly. So our question of the day is we’ve got a promotion going on called the Glam Giveaway Sweepstakes. Okay. And our patients can enter and the one person will come out a winner with a $6,000

Dr. Brahme (46:55):
Wow.

Monique Ramsey (46:56):
Gift card to spend here in the Carlsbad Med Spa.

Dr. Brahme (46:59):
Can I participate?

Monique Ramsey (47:00):
Well, this this is, you can’t win, but you can participate. Um, but here’s the question. If you were to win, what would you do with the $6,000? How would you spend that?

Dr. Brahme (47:11):
Well, um, I’d probably get some Botox and maybe some filler. And then I’m very excited about a new machine that we’re getting, gonna be getting in the next six weeks or so that, uh, it’s called the Ellacor. And it, um, it’s for patients who have sort of loose skin around the mouth and, um, a lot of patients who have facelifts. And, um, it’s a, it’s a perfect thing to do, like a year down the line or two years down the line from what facelift when you just wanna freshen up, but you’re not ready to do another facelift, obviously. So I’m very excited about that.

Monique Ramsey (47:52):
Now, what kind of technology does that use?

Dr. Brahme (47:54):
It is actually a skin extraction. So it’s like a little, little core of very fine needles and you can adjust it and those needles you can do under local anesthesia and it actually extracts skin and you can set it to what percentage skin you want extracted. And so it removes little cores of skin. And then as those cores sort of close up, it tightens the skin.

Monique Ramsey (48:24):
This sounds amazing.

Dr. Brahme (48:25):
It is amazing. I mean, the pictures I’ve seen have been, and they’re only, I think, I think they’re like 30 of them in the country.

Monique Ramsey (48:33):
Really?

Dr. Brahme (48:34):
And, uh, so,

Monique Ramsey (48:35):
And we’re getting one.

Dr. Brahme (48:36):
And we’re getting one .

Monique Ramsey (48:37):
Oh, okay.

Dr. Brahme (48:37):
And I’ve been, I’ve been lobbying for it for a couple of months, ,

Monique Ramsey (48:42):
You, you finally, you you made it happen.

Dr. Brahme (48:44):
I, I made my statement and we’re getting it.

Monique Ramsey (48:47):
Well, this is exciting.

Dr. Brahme (48:48):
I’m very excited.

Monique Ramsey (48:48):
Well, we’re gonna have to have a podcast about it once you get to play, once it comes, and you can play around with it.

Dr. Brahme (48:53):
I’m gonna try it on myself.

Monique Ramsey (48:54):
Are you?

Dr. Brahme (48:55):
Oh, absolutely.

Monique Ramsey (48:56):
Okay. Well.

Dr. Brahme (48:57):
And it’s local anesthesia.

Monique Ramsey (48:58):
Oh, okay.

Dr. Brahme (48:59):
Yeah. So you don’t need to go to sleep.

Monique Ramsey (49:00):
Very nice.

Dr. Brahme (49:01):
So, we’re very excited.

Monique Ramsey (49:03):
All right. Very cool. Well, thank you.

Dr. Brahme (49:05):
All right. Good to see you.

Monique Ramsey (49:07):
Good to see you. So I’m here with Cristina, Dr. Brahme’s nurse, and the part of the Swedish, Swedish Plastic Surgery team. Um, so welcome to the podcast, Cristina.

Cristina (49:21):
Thank you so much.

Monique Ramsey (49:22):
What we’re doing, I’ve got two questions for you. First question is, tell me your thoughts about here.

Cristina (49:28):
I love it.

Monique Ramsey (49:28):
Do you?

Cristina (49:29):
I love it. Nice and bright. Beautiful. Beautiful. Excellent parking fun things around to do while you wait to get in or, or leave Uhhuh. . I think it’s beautiful. Yeah. Beautiful.

Monique Ramsey (49:41):
Okay, so our question is, we’ve got this glam giveaway sweepstakes happening for our patients. Somebody can win $6,000 to spend here in the Carlsbad Med Spa. So if you won $6,000, how would you spend it?

Cristina (49:55):
Uh, depends on, well, I am older, so I’m soon 70, so I would spend it.

Monique Ramsey (50:02):
Are you really?

Cristina (50:03):
In July.

Monique Ramsey (50:04):
? Oh my gosh.

Cristina (50:05):
I would probably spend it on maybe the Morpheus8 to some of those treatments, and then I would do, oh, depends a little bit about what, so I just now filled in some lines around my mouth.

Monique Ramsey (50:25):
Your mouth looks great.

Cristina (50:26):
Used a little bit of Botox, which I didn’t even know that you could do.

Monique Ramsey (50:30):
Oh,

Cristina (50:30):
Just a tiny, tiny bit. And, uh, then get a, on a good, really good facial regime to have to preserve the skin we have.

Monique Ramsey (50:41):
Yeah. Yeah. So what kind of, um, where did they, where did they do the Botox around your mouth? How did that work? How does that work?

Cristina (50:48):
Um, she did one little prick here, so 1, 2, 3, 4 little sticks.

Monique Ramsey (50:54):
Oh, okay.

Cristina (50:54):
And it’s gonna take the lines out.

Monique Ramsey (50:56):
Well that you, I don’t see any lines anyway, but yeah, you look really good.

Cristina (51:02):
And you probably would do, I’ve, I’ve, you have done, um, the v No, the halo here.

Monique Ramsey (51:07):
Oh, the halo. Okay.

Cristina (51:08):
And I love that. That is such a beautiful treatment. Not much downtime. And, uh, yeah, it’s a little bit on the fence. That’s a beautiful, beautiful laser.

Monique Ramsey (51:19):
Yeah, I know. I’m, I’m, I’m, I’m ready for all of it. And it’s been really fun to listen to, you know, all the team talking about the things that they would do because really there are so many um, options, so many great options. Exactly. Well, thanks for coming in and sitting down with me.

Cristina (51:36):
Thank you for having us here.

Monique Ramsey (51:38):
Of course.
