Your breast implant options at LJCSC
Women considering breast augmentation have more options than ever when it comes to choosing the perfect breast implants for them. It’s no longer just saline vs. silicone—with your surgeon’s guidance, you can hand-pick implant size, shape, and even texture!
Implant filling material
Breast implants come in two types: silicone and saline. Saline implants are comprised of a soft silicone outer-shell that is filled with saline solution during the procedure. Silicone implants are pre-filled with safe silicone gel. Both implant types come with advantages, and what will work best for you will depend on your desired look, natural anatomy, and the expert recommendation of your surgeon.
At LJCSC, we primarily use shaped or round highly cohesive silicone gel implants, commonly known as “gummy bear” implants. Our board certified plastic surgeons recommend form stable silicone gel implants for their many advantages, but we also offer saline-filled implants for patients who would prefer this option.

Implant size
Breast implants can range anywhere from 120 – 800 cc in volume. What size will give you a look you’ll love is determined by a number of factors, from how large you want your breast to be to how large they can realistically be based on your natural anatomy. Our Curves Connection® Program will help you visualize what your results may be based on implant selection and advice from your surgeon.
While the online chatter may give the impression that one implant type is “best,” we believe that your body proportions, your desired look, your personal preferences, and even your age are more important considerations when choosing implants. Our board certified plastic surgeons have years of experience performing breast augmentations and tailor our implant recommendations to each individual. Your surgeon will collaborate with you to find which implant shape, projection, base width, and volume will fit you best. You’ll even be able to try on implant sizers and preview options with photos during an individual implant sizing & shaping session.
Incision placement
The type of implants you choose will also impact how they are placed and which incision option is the right choice for you. The two most common incisions used are inframammary (in the natural fold under the breast and periareolar (around the areola), though we can also place implants through the armpit (transaxillary incision) for no visible scarring.

Where will my breast augmentation incisions be?
Breast augmentation incisions may be in the breast crease, around the nipple, or in the armpit. A saline or silicone implant is inserted under the breast tissue, or under the breast tissue and the underlying muscle.
What is breast augmentation recovery like?
While you will want to take it easy the first few days after breast augmentation, most patients find recovery after breast surgery to be very manageable. If you have a desk job, you can usually return to work within a week. Although you’ll have to take a break from workouts, you should be able to ease back into aerobic activity and exercise not involving the chest in about 4 weeks.
How much is breast augmentation?
Depending on which implants you choose, breast augmentation costs anywhere from $6,495 (saline) to $7,295 (silicone) and up. The price will increase if you are having other procedures at the same time, such as a breast lift. We also offer a $300 cash discount. For example, the cash price for silicone breast augmentation starts at $6,995, and $6,195 for saline.
