How long is recovery after breast augmentation surgery?
Our breast augmentation patients typically feel well enough to return to a desk job or school within a week of the surgery. You’ll need to take a longer break from the gym, especially for exercises that involve the chest muscles. It’s usually about 4 weeks before you can start resuming cardio workouts.
How long do breast implants last?
If you’ve read that the “rule of thumb” is to replace implants every 10 years, feel free to disregard that. If you're happy with how your breasts look and there is nothing wrong with the implants, there is no need for revision surgery. Breast implants are not designed to last forever, though, and most patients at some point consider replacing or removing their implants.
Can I breastfeed after getting breast implants?
Yes, Breast augmentation doesn't usually affect a woman's ability to breastfeed. It's important to inform your surgeon of your plans so that they can use an incision pattern that avoids the nipple area.
