What Does BBL Photorejuvenation Treat?

Unlike lasers that remove layers of skin, BBL photorejuvenation delivers intense pulsed light (IPL) energy through the skin’s surface to leave you with a clearer, more even complexion.

BBL improves the appearance of conditions including:

  • Facial redness
  • Broken capillaries
  • Age spots
  • Freckles
  • Enlarged pores
  • Sun damage

We often combine BBL treatments with MOXI™ laser treatments for even better results.

Who Is an Ideal Candidate for BBL Photofacial?

This treatment is ideal for anyone looking for a quick, no-downtime solution to photoaging on the face, neck, or chest. You should not have a BBL photorejuvenation treatment if you have recently been tanning or if you have a darker skin complexion. We’ll be happy to chat with you about better approaches for your skin, such as a chemical peel or a topical product.

How Does BBL Photorejuvenation Work?

The different spectrums of light energy in BBL are each attracted to the brown and red shades of pigment in the skin. During treatment, the beams of light hit this pigmentation and dismantle it. As the skin heals, the treated spots will slough off. The pulsed light also heats the skin and stimulates collagen production, which helps the skin restore some of its natural condition.

What Is It Like To Get a BBL Photofacial?

Most people are pleasantly surprised by just how comfortable and gentle BBL treatments are! And they’re quick, too: Although time varies depending upon the area being treated, the average treatment time is 30 to 45 minutes. Because the treatment is so gentle, you can even return to your usual routine right away.

Our Promises To You

Enjoy Pain-Free BBL Treatments With PRO-NOX™

You deserve a comfortable experience, so we now offer PRO-NOX as an add-on during light treatments and other medical spa services.

What Is PRO-NOX?

PRO-NOX is a self-administered nitrous oxide (laughing gas) system that allows you to be in full control of your comfort. If at any point you feel you need something to take the edge off, simply breathe through the PRO-NOX mouthpiece for instant relief from pain and anxiety.

Unlike oral pain medication, PRO-NOX takes effect in seconds but wears off minutes after your treatment, leaving no trace of the chemical in your body. You can safely drive and return to your normal routine without worrying about side effects.

Ask us about adding PRO-NOX to your treatment at your consultation!

What Is Recovery Like After a BBL Photorejuvenation Treatment?

Immediately after the treatment, your skin will appear pink. This will last only a few hours and can be covered with makeup if needed. Your sun-damaged spots will darken slightly and will take a week to slough off. After 2 weeks, your results should be clearly visible. We typically recommend 3 to 5 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for best results.

How Much Does BBL Photorejuvenation Cost in San Diego?

At our med spa locations in La Jolla and Carlsbad, the cost of a BBL treatment is typically $300 to $1,250., Your price may vary depending on the size and number of your treated areas. Get all the info you need about costs on our pricing page.
