Bellafill® is one of the most exciting products to ever hit the injectable market and it has just landed at La Jolla Cosmetic Medical Spa.
Bellafill is a completely different type of filler from what is currently on the market. It is the first FDA approved injectible dermal filler that gives you the longest lasting wrinkle correction available.
This product is a unique combination of purified bovine collagen gel, tiny synthetic microspheres (polymethymethacrylate, commonly known as PMMA) and lidocaine (anesthetic agent).
The microspheres, which do not disappear or get re-absorbed by your body, provide support for the long term wrinkle correction. After the bovine collagen from the injection disappears (about 2-3 weeks), your body takes over and fills in the area with your own collagen! Because the collagen that is grown is your own, there can be no allergic reaction to it.
If you’ve used temporary dermal fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane (or other similar products) in the past, you know the product is eventually absorbed by your body. Frequent repeat injections are required to maintain the results you’ve come to love, and it can become a costly habit to maintain. In addition, some patients reach a “Needle Fatigue” state where they just don’t want to be “stuck” any more. With Bellafill, we can solve that.
