Props to These Celebs Who Aren’t Ashamed of Their Plastic Surgery

Times, they are a changin’—and plastic surgery is not as taboo as it was even a decade ago. Non-surgical treatments are often considered basic maintenance, patients are sharing their personal journeys on social media, and celebrities are opening up about having a little help.

A new kind of body positivity

In the past, plastic surgery made tabloid headlines for primarily negative reasons, with famous faces being blasted for their personal choices. While this kind of sensationalism still occurs (remember the cruel attacks on Renee Zellweger and Meg Ryan?), we love that we are now seeing celebrities featured for their openness and acceptance of cosmetic enhancement.

In fact, a number of stars are speaking out about how happy they are with their decision to have plastic surgery.

Here are some of our favorite stories from this year’s headlines:

She has no regrets and loves herself more than ever.

In fact, she even wished her plastic surgeon a happy birthday on Instagram, stating, “He is the reason I have fabulously perky boobs…”

“There was nothing wrong with me. I think it’s a personal choice and anybody, man or woman, they should be able to make an informed decision. If you want to change something, then that’s up to you.”Iggy Azalea

Keep up the good work, ladies!

Cosmetic surgery is an extremely personal choice, and the public conversation around it has been one-sided for a very long time. We commend these young women for sharing their experiences and chipping away at the plastic surgery stigma.
