Q: Who’s a good candidate for the LJC Signature Skinny Shot?
A: Men and women who struggle to lose weight are usually good candidates for prescription weight loss treatment in San Diego. However, the program may not be suitable for patients with a pre-existing condition like diabetes, pancreatitis, thyroid cancer, kidney dysfunction, liver problems, or a history of severe gastric reflux.
Q: How much weight will I lose with weight loss injections?
A: While every Skinny Shot journey is unique, our patients treated with semaglutide typically experience the following weight loss patterns: Month 1 (7.4 to 22.8 pounds), Month 2 (up to 11.6 pounds), Month 3 (up to 18 pounds) and Month 4 (up to 26 pounds). Our most successful Skinny Shot patients combine their medications with healthy lifestyle practices.
Q: Will I have side effects taking weight loss medications?
A: Some patients taking semaglutide or tirzepatide may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, or headaches. Most side effects can be managed and improved over time. Very rarely, pancreatitis, kidney dysfunction, or medullary thyroid cancer (animal studies only) may occur. We work with you to make your weight loss journey as easy and rewarding as possible.
Q: What if I’m not comfortable with self-injections?
A: If needles make you nervous, don’t stress! Although we provide detailed written and video tutorials on how to self-inject, you can visit LJC for weekly onsite injections administered by our medical pros if that makes you more comfortable.
Q: Does insurance cover weight loss injections?
A: We do not accept insurance for semaglutide or tirzepatide injections. Some outside providers may accept insurance for patients with a BMI over 30 or a BMI over 27 with comorbidity.
