Mommy Makeover in San Diego
Moms in San Diego, let’s get real. We love our kids, but pregnancy and childbirth are just not always nice to our bodies. Even if you take care of yourself, eat right, and exercise religiously, some things just won’t snap back without help. Breasts that were once full and curvy are now droopy and deflated. You might even have sagging skin and stretch marks on your belly that weren’t there before.
You can keep all the great parts of being a mom and ditch the battle scars with a mommy makeover. This customized cosmetic surgery is designed to help you get your body back, restoring your figure to the way you remember it back in your pre-baby days. Because your mommy makeover is tailored to your needs, our board-certified plastic surgeons will help you decide which procedures will give you the body of your dreams!
The great thing about your mommy makeover is that it’s truly customized and all about you! Most people concentrate on 3 areas: breasts, tummy, and hips. And we’ll let you in on a little secret: A growing number of women are also choosing vaginal rejuvenation procedures as part of their mommy makeovers!
The top 5 mommy makeover procedures are:
Breast Augmentation: A post-pregnancy boob job can restore volume to deflated breasts.
Breast Lift: With or without implants, a breast lift can give the “girls” back their perkier shape and position.
Tummy Tuck: If your abdominal muscles have stretched or you have excess skin hanging around, an abdominoplasty can tighten your tummy, helping you to feel confident in a swimsuit once again. Our advanced BellaButton surgical technique creates a beautiful, natural-looking belly button that complements your newly toned physique.
Liposuction: Baby fat isn’t only for the little ones. Liposuction can enhance your mommy makeover, creating a beautiful contour to your hips, belly, thighs, and even back!
Vaginal Rejuvenation: Let’s face it—childbirth is rough on our bodies. If you’re feeling less than great about your body “down there,” you have a number of procedure options to help you be more comfortable and confident.

What Is a Mini Mommy Makeover?
Psst! Did you know that not all moms need full-blown mommy makeover surgery? It’s true. Besides the more obvious physical toll pregnancy and childbirth take on the abdomen and breasts, the wear and tear of having children includes other bothersome conditions you don’t have to live with. That’s why we offer a range of “mini” mommy makeover options that can make a big difference without requiring extensive downtime or recovery.
These include both nonsurgical and surgical procedures. Some of the mini mommy makeover options we offer include:
Nonsurgical
Coolsculpting® Elite: Is there anything more frustrating than the persistence of love handles even after spending hours at the gym and diligently counting calories? That’s where CoolSculpting comes in. This nonsurgical option can slim and contour your love handles for a more streamlined silhouette.
“Baby BOTOX®”: Most San Diego moms know about BOTOX but are worried about looking “frozen.” With “Baby BOTOX,” we can produce subtle, natural-looking improvements to your appearance. This low-dose treatment helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles without leaving you with a frozen or unnatural look.
Lip fillers:You don’t need to be an Instagram influencer to want sexy, sensuous lips. If you’re looking to enhance your lips, we offer a range of lip filler options. Our expert injectors can help you choose the right filler and technique to produce natural-looking, beautiful results.
Chemical peels:If pregnancy changed your skin’s tone and texture, a superficial or medium chemical peel can help and requires little to no downtime. We offer a range of chemical peel options to help you achieve smoother, brighter skin.
Laser hair removal: Moms barely have time to shower, let alone shave their legs. Put that hassle in the rear-view mirror with permanent hair reduction.
Surgical
C-Section scar revision: If you’re unhappy with the appearance of your C-section scar, we can help. Our scar revision treatments help minimize the appearance of scars, giving you a smoother, more even skin tone.
Neck liposuction& jaw contouring: Moms often notice their once-sharp jawlines and taut neck skin lose definition and begin to sag after having children. (Kids do tend to accelerate the aging process.) Our neck liposuction and jaw contouring procedures can help restore a more youthful, contoured appearance to your face and neck.
Micro-Lipo: Target stubborn fat with a minimally invasive micro-lipo procedure. Micro-lipo differs from other liposuction treatments because your surgeon makes smaller incisions and uses micro-cannulas, minimizing your recovery time.
Vaginoplasty: Women often overlook the vaginal area when considering a mommy makeover. Vaginoplasty is a surgical procedure that restores tone and tightness to the vaginal canal, improving sexual satisfaction and confidence.
Labiaplasty: Childbirth can also cause changes to the labia, which may be uncomfortable and embarrassing for some women. Our labiaplasty procedure reduces excess tissue and restores a more comfortable, aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Upper eye lift: The eyes are often one of the first areas to show signs of aging. Our upper eye lift procedure reduces puffiness and sagging skin around the eyes, giving you a more alert and youthful appearance.

Considering Mommy Makeover Surgery in San Diego? Here’s What to Expect During Your Recovery
As a mom, naturally you are concerned with how any surgery and recovery time will affect your family. Because every mommy makeover is tailored to an individual’s needs, the recovery process is a little different for everyone.
Will I Need Help With Childcare After a Mommy Makeover?
In general, you’ll need to have help around the house full-time for 2 to 3 days after surgery, and up to a week or more if you’ve had a tummy tuck. While most people can begin their return to daily activities (such as driving, light housework, a desk job, and shopping) within 2 to 3 weeks, you’ll need continued assistance with heavier lifting and strenuous aspects of childcare for the first 4 to 6 weeks.
How Long Will I Need to Take Off Work After a Mommy Makeover?
Most people need 1 to 2 weeks off work. How much time you will need away from work depends on the procedures you are having and the nature of your job. If you are only having breast enhancement and liposuction, for example, you may be ready to go back to a desk job in about a week. If you are having a tummy tuck and/or your job requires physical labor, you will need more time, up to 3 weeks off.
Expect a 4- to 8-week break from exercise. You should be able to resume easy walking within a few days after a mommy makeover, but strenuous activity will be off-limits for several weeks. A tummy tuck will require the longest hiatus from exercise—about 6 to 8 weeks—as your incisions will need to be fully healed before heading to the gym, pool, or ocean.
What Are Scars Like After a Mommy Makeover?
As with any plastic surgery procedure, you’ll have some scars after a mommy makeover. By choosing an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon, you can be sure that your surgeon has the skill and knowledge to produce minimized scarring. Moreover, your scars will fade over time and will be in places that are easily hidden by clothing—even a bikini. If your mommy makeover includes a tummy tuck, we reduce scarring by using our signature BellaButton approach for refining the belly button using interior sutures after excess skin is removed. We can also help you find a good scar-minimizing treatment to help your scars heal smoothly and reduce redness.

Mommy Makeover FAQs
Q: How much weight is typically lost with a mommy makeover?
A: While you may lose some weight after a mommy makeover, the procedure is primarily focused on body contouring and restoring your pre-pregnancy shape rather than significant weight loss. However, if your procedure includes liposuction or a tummy tuck, you may lose about 5-10 pounds. Results vary depending on your body type and chosen procedures.
Q: How many sizes do you go down after a mommy makeover?
A: The number of sizes you go down after a mommy makeover depends on the extent of your procedure and your individual body type. Remember, the primary goal of a mommy makeover is to restore or enhance your body contours and proportions rather than drop several clothing sizes. However, many patients are excited to find they go down 1 or 2 clothing sizes after surgery.
Q: How painful is the recovery period?
A: While every cosmetic surgery and recovery is unique, mommy makeover recovery can involve moderate discomfort, which you can manage well with prescribed pain medication. Discomfort usually peaks after the first few days, with significant improvement after the first week. We’ll provide detailed post-operative care instructions to help minimize your pain and enhance healing.
Q: How long does a full mommy makeover take?
A: A full mommy makeover consisting of multiple combined body contouring procedures may take 4 to 6 hours to complete. Because our surgeons customize each mommy makeover, the surgical duration varies.
Q: Is 40 too old for a mommy makeover?
A: No, 40 is not too old to have a mommy makeover. Many women in their 40s and older choose to undergo this procedure to restore their pre-pregnancy body shape. In fact, you don’t even have to be a mom to restore your youthful contours with mommy makeover surgery. Regardless of your age, the key to a positive mommy makeover experience includes being in good overall health and having realistic expectations about your results.
