Strattice™ Tissue Matrix

Strattice™ Reconstructive Tissue Matrix

A Revolutionary Solution for Cosmetic Breast Surgery

We’re always on the lookout for ways to advance our techniques so we can deliver the best possible results for you—it’s part of our commitment to excellence. We’re excited to tell you about a unique new product for breast enhancement: Strattice™ Tissue Matrix.

What is Strattice™ Reconstructive Tissue Matrix?

Strattice™ is a soft, natural product derived from sterilized porcine dermis. It’s designed to reinforce weak or inadequate tissue. It also helps support the growth of your own tissue.

For years, Strattice™ has been used for reconstructive purposes, but Dr. John Smoot, a teacher and lecturer for Strattice™, quickly recognized its benefits for certain cosmetic breast procedures. Today, our surgeons Dr. Lori Saltz and [link pid="1155"]Dr. Smoot successfully use Strattice™ for both [link pid="920"]breast implant revision and breast lift with augmentation. They are known regionally and nationally for their work in cosmetic breast revision.

Breast Revision Surgery with Strattice™

The overwhelming majority of breast augmentation patients are very happy with their results, especially when they choose an experienced plastic surgeon to perform their surgery. On occasion, however, problems do occur.

Improving Implant Position or Symmetry

During breast augmentation, your surgeon creates a pocket for the implants. The surrounding tissue acts as the support for the implants, holding them in the correct shape and position. If this supportive tissue becomes compromised, implants may shift so they look unnatural or asymmetrical, resulting in conditions such as bottoming out, fold malposition, or symmastia.

In these cases, our surgeons use Strattice™ to rebuild the breast pocket, helping to achieve the beautiful, natural results you are hoping for.

Correcting Rippling or Wrinkling

In some cases, particularly for patients with minimal breast tissue or those with very stretched skin, the implant can be felt underneath the skin or show visible rippling. Your surgeon can use Strattice™ to reinforce the skin, helping to smooth out visible rippling or wrinkling.

Strattice™ for Augmentation Mastopexy

A breast lift with augmentation can give you fuller, perkier breasts in one procedure. But for some patients, the skin has become thin and overstretched—too weak to provide adequate support for the implant on its own. In such cases, your surgeon can use Strattice™ to add support to the bottom portion of the breast, helping to achieve beautiful results that last longer.
