Wishing Mary the Best of Luck in Her Retirement!

staff-maryAnyone who has walked through our doors here at LJC has likely been greeted with the friendly, smiling face of patient care coordinator, Mary Manjarrez. After 13 years of helping ensure our patients are happy and that everything runs smoothly from consult to follow-up, Mary is retiring—and we wanted to celebrate all the wonderful work she has done!

LJC welcomed Mary to the family in 2003

In September of 2003, Mary joined the LJC team to work in the back office, answering phones and ensuring all paperwork was completed and filed correctly. Within just three short months, we saw that there was something special about Mary and asked her to be a patient care coordinator. She filled the position perfectly and has been helping take care of our patients ever since.

At this same time, Mary had the opportunity to have facelift surgery performed by Dr. Olesen, one of our board certified plastic surgeons who has since retired.

“As a baby boomer, it is important to me that I look as young as I feel—and years of hard work and stress were making me look prematurely aged,” Mary states. “Dr. Olesen did a beautiful job, and I was thrilled with my results. Even now, 13 years later at 53 years old, I still look younger than my age. I’ve been happily helping patients understand what this procedure can achieve ever since!”

Mary’s favorite parts of working at LJC

As excited as Mary is to retire and spend more time with her family, she will sorely miss her “work family.”

“Our doctors are awesome, and I love everyone I work with,” she says. “I will miss my doctors, friends, and patients greatly when I leave, but this definitely won’t be the last we see of each other!”

The position of patient care coordinator involves a lot of detailed work—and our coordinators are busy every day, all week long, making sure our patients are well taken care of. Mary loves her work at LJC, particularly seeing the happy faces of patients after they’ve had a procedure or treatment.

“I love what I do and will absolutely miss the work,” Mary exclaims. “It’s so thrilling to work with patients and play a role in their transformations.”

What will Mary do with her new free time?

Mary will have no trouble filling up her time, and she is most excited to spend time with her four grandchildren. “They are 10, 7, 5, and 4, and they just grow up so fast,” she explains. “I don’t want to miss a thing!”

She is also looking forward to having more time for volunteer opportunities, enjoying the beautiful weather from her bike, and gardening.

We wish Mary all the best in this next stage of her life. We’ll miss you!

Celebrating the entire LJC family

We are incredibly lucky to work with such a talented team here at LJC, many of whom have been with us for ten years or more! We wanted to take this opportunity to say “thank you” to all of our surgeons, laser & skin specialists, patient coordinators, and office staff!
