You may be a candidate for correction of deviated nasal septum (septoplasty) if you have nasal obstruction (difficulty breathing) because of developmental or post injury crookedness of the nasal septum (divider between the two sides of the nose). The intended result of septoplasty is a reduction of nasal obstruction and the ability to breath better.
This procedure is done on an outpatient basis under local or general anesthesia. The crooked cartilage is partially removed, straightened, or both.

A deviated septum can cause more than just functional issues for your nose. It’s often associated with a crooked nose that may make you self-conscious about its appearance. Our board-certified plastic surgeons can combine rhinoplasty with septoplasty to straighten the nose and make it easier to breathe. If you’re considering cosmetic nose surgery, undergoing septorhinoplasty can save you the cost of undergoing separate surgeries.
