What To Expect During Your Buccal Fat Removal Surgery
You will be given intravenous sedation or general anesthesia before your procedure. Using surgical techniques, your plastic surgeon will create an incision on the inside of your mouth to remove a portion of buccal fat. After the procedure, you will need to recover at home for several weeks.

Your mouth may be sore after surgery, so eating soft, non-acidic foods for a few days is helpful. You may also need to rinse your mouth with a special wash to prevent infection.
