Do I Have to Be a Mom to Have a “Mommy Makeover?”

Woman looking inquisitive as she drinks coffee.

What we love most about our work here at LJC is helping our patients feel more beautiful, confident, and comfortable in their own skin. If there ever was a procedure that checks these boxes, it would be the mommy makeover.

Typically a combo of breast enhancement, tummy tuck, and liposuction, with added non-surgical face and body treatments as needed, a mommy makeover can address sagging breasts, loose skin, stretch marks, a protruding belly, and stubborn fat bulges in one fell swoop.

Mommy makeover is just a fun term used to describe a personalized whole-body makeover—and that’s something we can do for anyone, regardless of their parental status.

The thing is, these very same issues can affect anyone. And we’re here to tell you that no, you do NOT have to be a mom to have a mommy makeover. In fact, the term mommy makeover is just shorthand for a personalized, whole-body makeover—and that’s something we can do for anyone, regardless of their parental status.

Weight loss, aging, and genetics can all change the breasts and body

“Deflated” breasts and loose skin on the belly are just as common after weight loss as they are after pregnancy—and a procedure plan combining breast lift with augmentation and tummy tuck is just as popular among our post-weight loss patients at LJC as it is for our San Diego mommy makeover patients.

The aging process can also lead to changes similar to those that come with childbearing: loss of breast volume and tone in vaginal tissues, for example. These can be addressed with breast augmentation and feminine rejuvenation, respectively.

Sometimes, genetics is to blame. Some of us simply have thinner, less elastic skin—and if you’ve also inherited your grandma’s ample bust, you may have significant breast sagging even at a relatively young age that calls for a breast lift or reduction.

How we store fat is also largely hereditary, as well as the shape of our bellies; it’s perfectly normal to have a “pot belly” or mildly protruding lower abs, even if you’re in great shape. Many child-free patients choose to have a tummy tuck with liposuction (a classic mommy makeover combo) to treat a belly bulge and address stubborn fat.

Mommy or not, we’re here to help you make the changes you desire
